Built and scaled Austria’s largest English-speaking community platform from scratch.

The Challenge

Austria lacked a strong, modern, English-speaking community platform that truly connected internationals with local culture, lifestyle, and everyday life in the country.

Most existing expat communities were fragmented, outdated, highly local, or inactive on social media. There was no recognizable nationwide platform consistently creating engaging English-language content about Austria in a way that felt entertaining, culturally relevant, and native to modern social media.

We identified a major opportunity to dominate a niche almost nobody was approaching properly: social-first, entertainment-driven content about Austria created specifically for internationals and English-speaking audiences.

What We Did

Over 12 months, we built and scaled a multi-platform English-speaking media community focused on virality, consistency, and cultural relevance, while creating one of the most recognizable social media accounts for internationals in Austria.

Key actions we executed:

1. Building the entire brand ecosystem from scratch

Developed the full community concept, brand positioning, visual identity, tone of voice, and content strategy.
Created the website, social media presence, editorial direction, and platform structure designed specifically for English-speaking internationals in Austria.

2. Producing viral social-first content

Created high-retention short-form content focused on Austrian culture, lifestyle, humor, expat experiences, recommendations, and relatable local moments.
Focused heavily on shareability, recognizable formats, and content designed for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and algorithmic discovery.

3. Maintaining daily multi-platform activity

Published content consistently across all major social platforms with no long inactive periods. Built a continuous content flow including videos, carousels, memes, local recommendations, articles, community-driven posts, and reactive trend-based content.

4. Developing the website and editorial platform

Designed and launched the Oida Austria website as a central hub for articles, guides, recommendations, and community-focused content. Built the platform to support long-term organic traffic growth, discoverability, and audience retention beyond social media.

5. Creating a recognizable community brand in Austria

Built a highly recognizable English-speaking media identity with a strong community-driven tone and culturally-native communication style. Positioned Oida Austria as a relatable and trusted platform for internationals living in Austria while also attracting local Austrian audiences interested in modern digital culture.

Achieved nearly 200,000 followers organically (IG, TT, FB) and built the largest English-speaking community in Austria through a social-first content strategy.
